Project Description

Wujiaba New City Center is the focus of building a radiation center facing South Asia and Southeast Asia under "the Belt and Road Initiative" of China, an important carrier of Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone and an important implementation platform for Kunming to develop into an international central city in the region. This project is planned to cover an area of 28.86 km2, including a core area of 15.87 km2 with a resident population of 211,000.

Construction period: 5 years

Developer: Kunming Urban Construction Investment and Development Co., Ltd., an important urban construction investment and financing platform in Kunming as well as the first-level developer of Wujiaba Area authorized by Kunming Municipal People's Government.

Content

This project is to be developed with supporting infrastructure constructed and industries introduced roughly in 5 years and to be completed within 8-10 years in the principle of "develop and mature each zone one by one with infrastructure going first" and the development concept of "forming a cluster within two years, a town within four years and a city within five years".  The construction covers a world-class regional financial center, a green and innovative media center, a colorful and diversified business center, a center radiating to South Asia and Southeast Asia and a headquarters base.

Land supply plan: It is planned to sell 12 plots of land with a total area of 387.67 mu in Wujiaba Area in 2020.

Supporting Conditions

Medical care: The buildings of Kunming Fifth People's Hospital, a Class A tertiary hospital, have been capped. A number of secondary hospitals, community hospitals and health service stations will be introduced gradually.

Education: This area is a "golden education and school area" in Kunming with 28 kindergartens accommodating 499 classes, 10 primary schools accommodating 360 classes, 5 junior high schools accommodating 186 classes, and 4 senior high schools accommodating 156 classes.

Central Park: The 338-hectare Central Park is an ecological vein surrounding the city with green and bringing more care to the city. Getting in close contact with nature is helpful for relief of traffic pressure of the city and for easy travel of residents.

Based on the headquarters base in Wujiaba Area, backed by the domestic market and radiating the vast markets of South and Southeast Asia, Yunnan has closer contact with neighboring countries and regions with the in-depth implementation of "the Belt and Road Initiative" and Kunming will gradually become a market center capable of radiating a population of 3.5 billion in South Asia, Southeast Asia and China. Radiating South Asia and Southeast Asia with promising market prospects, this project is to promote domestic high-end technology and high-quality production capacity to "go global" and construct the national value chain and the global value chain.
