Overview

The project is to build the concept of "all-for-one tourism" (non-single scenic spot type) of north loop of Jinghong in the construction mode of "point-line-face" in the north area of Jinghong City by centering on the six core elements of "mountain, water, forest, city, township, and village".

Firstly, lead in stable tourist groups by virtue of scenic areas and spots maturely operated along the loop. Secondly, deeply excavate and develop a batch of theme parks with strong interaction and high experience cost performance to enrich the operational types of tourism. Finally, conduct overall planning to the tourism line, tourism time, and tourism experience, bring out differentiated tourism products of "one season, one scene" and "one village, one characteristic", redefine new tourism line in Xishuangbanna, raise the overall tourism level of Xishuangbanna, and increase customer engagement to ensure return visits of tourists and drive the rapid economic development of all townships and towns along the loop.

Content: The project is planned to connect Gaozhuang Xishuangjing - Forest Park - Wild Elephant Valley - Dadugang "Ten-Thousand Mu Tea Garden" - China Forestry Yademinong Tourism and Resorts Zone - Jingne Ecological Folk Experience - sightseeing of Jinghong Hydropower Station Reservoir Area - Wanda Tourism and Resorts Zone in series to form a tourism loop, and construct public infrastructures, tourism supporting facilities, ten-thousand mu tea garden, outdoor mountain sports, rural tourism, water recreational facilities and aviation high-altitude experience.

Supporting Conditions

1. Advantages and opportunities: Jinghong in Dai language means "dawn city". It is a multi-ethnic border area by taking Dai nationality as the main body. Known as Jingyong and Jinglong in ancient times, it has a former name of Cheli. It is the capital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture as well as political, economic and cultural center of the whole prefecture. Jinghong City, located in the south of Yunnan Province and the central region of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, has a land area of 6,959 km². It adjoins to Jiangcheng County and Mengla County in the east, Menghai County and Lancang County in the west, Pu'er City in the north, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand in the south, with the frontier length of 112.39 km.

Jinghong City is located between the Lancang River and the Liusha River. The Lancang River passes through from north to south. The Xiaomengyang-Mohan Highway passes through from east to north, and the Kunming-Daluo Highway passes through from east to west. In the city, there are Jinghong Port (national port), Xishuangbanna Airport and other transportation hubs. 45 domestic non-stop flights and 3 international flights have been opened in the Xishuangbanna Airport of the international airport in the southwest of the suburb. Meanwhile, the Kunming-Bangkok Great International Passage passes through, and the Yuxi-Mohan Railway is now accelerating.

2. Associated foundations: Gaozhuang Xishuangjing: "One river, two gates, nine towers, and twelve stockaded villages", planned in the project, becomes a large-scale tourist distribution center facing Southeast Asia, and is the first no-entrance-fee AAAA tourist attraction in Xishuangbanna, with the annual tourist amount of over 10 million, covering 70% of total tourists received in the whole prefecture, and the annual revenue of up to RMB 5.5 billion. Gaozhuang rapidly becomes a new tourism card of Xishuangbanna with graceful landscapes, rich national customs, and convenient tourism modes.

Primeval Forest Park: Covering 25,000 mu, it is the largest primeval forest park in China, and a 4A scenic area, with the annual average tourist amount of 1.5 million around. In the park, the forest coverage exceeds 98%, and there are more than 400 green peafowls bred.

Xishuangbanna Wild Elephant Valley: It is located in Mengyang Sub-nature Reserve of Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve. Asian wild elephants, buffalo, green peafowls and other animals are inhabited here. There are many attractions here, including high-altitude elephant sightseeing trestle, rainforest sightseeing cableway, Asian elephant museum, Asian elephant breeding base, and Asian elephant acting school.

Dadugang Ten-Thousand Mu Tea Garden: Dadugang Township has an average elevation of more than 1,300m, a forest area of 1.02 million mu, and the forest coverage of up to 85.8%. The landscape of 76,000 mu tea mountains here makes Dadugang Township become one of the largest townships (towns) in Yunnan Province in the green tea planting area.

China Forestry Yademinong Tourism and Resorts Zone: With the planning area of 158.5 km², it radiates outward by taking Yademinong living area as the project core to extend and build two theme product lines: "international mountain sports line" and "rainforest ecological experience line" by depending on the surrounding resource characteristics.

Jingne Township: With a land area of 627 km² and the forest coverage of up to 82%, it has a great variety of plants and animals, high biodiversity, and is the feeding area of Asian elephants. It enjoys abundant water resources, rosins, edible wild mushrooms, bamboo resources, good natural ecology, and great development potential.

Jinghong Hydropower Station Reservoir Area: It is located in the mainstream of the Lancang River in the northern suburbs of Jinghong City. The upper reaches are connected to the Nuozhadu Hydropower Station, and the lower reaches are the Ganlanba Hydropower Station, with the maximum dam height of 108m. It is expected that the total length of the developable touring line in the reservoir area will be 70 km.

Wanda Xishuangbanna International Tourism and Resorts Zone: Covering 5.3 km², it contains Wanda theme park, Wanda Dai show theater, Wanda bar street, Wanda Plaza, Wanda mountain hotel cluster, Top three hospitals, as well as preschool, primary, and secondary education supporting circle. Moreover, it also contains such eight operational types as Wanda tourist town to be constructed. It is an advanced cultural tourist city with simultaneous opening of full operational type.

Market Prediction (Analysis)

Core market accounting for 70%: process tourist market oriented by city agglomeration of three provinces in southwest, tourist market with Xishuangbanna as the tourist destination, and tourist market with all scenic spots of the whole prefecture as the tourist destination. Important market accounting for 30%: sub-health tourist market oriented by leisure and health, and tourist market oriented by experience in Yunnan minority folk customs.

Profit Model and Preliminary Benefit Analysis

The major incomes are derived from recreational activities along the line, internal transportation, water recreation, specialty and accommodation, native product shopping, and necessary commercial sales or leasing along the line. The project enjoys good economic benefit and rapid payback.

Risk Analysis

The tourism resources within the administrative regions involved are difficult to be coordinated. The Dadugang-Jingne transportation is inconvenient to reduce the expected value to tourist travel. Xishuangbanna has a long rainy season.
