Overview of Yunnan
Basic Facts
As the geographic center of Asia, Yunnan is adjacent to ASEAN members-myanmar, Laos and Vietnam and serves as China's gateway to South and Southeast Asia. It is the only province from which China can connect South and Southeast Asia and three Silk Roads by land.
Economic Development
In 2018, Yunnan introduced a total of 14 RMB one-billion-level industrial projects, and signed strategic agreements with Huawei, CRRC, Jingrun Huachuang Tech, Beijing University of Chemical Technology. Meanwhile, Yunnan has continuously carried out programs dedicated to the "Three Hundred" 2 industrial transformation and upgrading, smart manufacturing demonstration, and a new round of 1,000 technological transformation. The clustering of leading projects helps drive Yunnan's manufacturing industry smarter, greener, and more service-oriented.
Digital Economy
In 2018, Yunnan pushed ahead its digital economy with the implementation of the"Digital Yunnan"plan, marked by the"All-in-One"mobile apps, in a bid to build itself into a digital-driven hub attractive to South and Southeast Asia.

Transportation Network
As a strategic gateway for China's southwestern region to the Yangtze River Economic Zone, Yunnan has a well-developed network of roads, railways, waterways and airways that extends to South and Southeast Asia, allowing for the province's further integration into the global economic arena.
Public Infrastructure
As an important hub connecting China southward to other countries along the Maritime Silk Road, Yunnan has a well-developed public infrastructure system that facilitates the clustering of industries. Meanwhile, the province is actively investing in green energies, such as hydro-power, in support of sustainable regional economic growth.

In 2018, the talent pool of Yunnan expanded to over 5 million people, among which technical talents and highly skilled professionals account for over 50%, providing solid intellectual support for Yunnan's economic and social development.
Human Resources Costs
As disclosed by Yunnan Provincial Human Resources and Social Security Department, the average annual salary of on-post staff in the province in 2017 was RMB 73, 515, and the sum of the"Five Insurances and One Fund" contributions paid by employers accounted for 34.25% of the total salary. Yunnan is competitive in labor cost compared with its neighboring provinces and some provinces in East China, giving it an edge in receiving transferred industries from the east and underpinning the long-term operation and development of local enterprises.

Based on its abundant energy resources, while facilitating the development of petrochemical processing, Yunnan has launched projects integrating hydro-power production with the processing of aluminum and silicon for automotive manufacturing, new materials and other uses, to achieve green, low-carbon and sustainable development.
Green Products
Following the development model featuring "major industries, new players and e-commerce platforms", Yunnan focuses on developing eight key industries of green products through a specialized industry system aimed at organic production and local brand building, as part of the efforts to upgrade the plateau agriculture in the province.

Location Advantage
Located in the combination of China's economic circle, Southeast Asian economic circle and South Asian economic circle, Yunnan is China's international gateway to South Asia and Southeast Asia and a key hub for the economic circle around the Indian Ocean.

Government Services
As part of its endeavor to cut red tape with information technology, Yunnan has put in place an "Internet plus government services" model to streamline approval procedures, enabling both online and offline access to one-stop processing of administrative formalities.
Yunnan has established a uniform identity authentication system with a shared electronic certificate database, which supports single sign-on with enterprises' organization codes or unified social credit codes, while allowing real-time management including generation, alteration and cancellation of electronic certificates.
